Does any one happen to know what wire I need to tap into for a remote wire to my amp from the factory head unit? I know on most aftermarket head units its the blue wire but I'm not sure when it comes to the stock cd player, any help would be great, thanks

Do you have a volt meter? draw a picture on a piece of paper of the pin outs on the plug. Next probe the plugs with ignition off. there will be a few with constant 12v and a few ground. mark them and eliminate them! Next turn on the ignition and keep the radio OFF, find the ignition 12v... mark that down...

Now, i can think of 2 ways to get this job done... you can just use the ignition wire to turn on the amp... the only draw back is that the amp will be on even if the radio is not... but not that big a deal. OR you can continue probing. Turn the ignition on, AND the radio...IF there is a wire for a Remote turn on/ or power ant. it will show up now as 12V.

remember a remote turn on is only a low amp 12v source wire that flips a relay in an amp. it could even be a simple 2 pole switch and a fused 12 wire from anywhere... just remember to flip the switch to turn it off or you will have a dead battery!
