Hi guys, I know money is tight these days, but I was wondering if the Ohio chapter of LOST would like to become a member of the United Four Wheel Drive Association. This organization is always fighting to keep our trails open, they've assisted with Camp Jeep, they organize members and inform them of actions impacting trail access, and if our group joins United then every time an Ohio LOST member becomes a paid United member our group would get $3 of the membership fee.

As a member organization we would get more visibility for our group, voting rights in UFWDA, and any member of our group that becomes a member of United would get $5 off their membership dues. Individual membership is nice because there are a large number of companies that support United and some, like Quadratec, give discounts to UFWDA members.

I strongly believe in United's mission to defend our right to trails and I'm willing to pony up the first year's organizational membership fee if you all want to do this. You can find out more information about United at http://www.ufwda.org/.

So, should we become a member org in United or should we pass for now?

Think it sounds like a pretty good deal I used to belong and somehow forgot to renew or change address or something and was dropped

But sure lets see what everyone else thinks but I am good with it!

Yeah, that's the individual membership, you can join that way if you would like. However, if we determine that everyone wants to become a supporting organization of United then I'll fill out that paperwork, pay the dues, and when/if you all decide to buy a membership you'll save $5. It sounds like people are interested in becoming a supporting organization, but I'll wait another day for extra feedback before going through the paperwork.

If possible give it 4 or 5 days time as some don't get on here all the time. Want to give everyone a chance to have a say in it.

Sure, no problem. I want everyone to have a say and I'm in no hurry. I'll just participate in the discussion and if there's a decision to do it in 5 days or so then I'll post up that it's a go and give it another day for any dissenting voices. So that would put it around 4/22. If a week isn't enough time just let me know. It's up to everyone to decide, I'm just providing the funding and the idea.
