Yea well we have been together for a long time and are engaged to be married...the time yet is not determined :D We always give each other a hard time about expenditures...her clothing, my Jeep stuff...fair trade off don't you think? Plus I always tell her, "Who is the one who likes to go muddin with me and wheelin in the hills, huh?" She loves that so I am usually able to convince her to put up with new Jeep stuff...like this rear bumper...how can I tell her that it will somehow help the KJs muddin ability?

You can't, she's a woman. You have to explain it in terms they really understand. Something like, "Honey, you know how women always complain about how something they wear makes their butt look big? Well, my poor little Libby is complaining about how that stock bumper makes her poor butt look big. This new bumper well give her that slim, sexy, firm rear end that will have all the guys turing their heads thinking 'Dang, now that's hot!'." :D

Are you planning to do something about the fenders? Obviously we'll all need to cut them so they don't hang so far below the bumper, are you going to extend the bumper, or ?

.....all in all, i'm lovin the design so far!

Here are some pictures to show how the new bumper is extended all the way to the wheel well, then the second pictures shows how the flare covers and where the flare will need to be trimmed at the top of the tape line.

Does that answer your question?

Now there is an idea RL...not only do you know how to fab up a sweet bumper, but you know how to speak to women...*cheers* 8)

You're the one who said it had a bubble butt (Page 11)

OK, here is the bumper pretty much done (minus shackle tabs, hitch, etc.). I have also done up another picture with some painted in accessories to show how everything will fit up. The carrier will have a low and high setting with 12" of difference, but the artwork is not to scale. The shackle tabs, hitch receiver and highlift jack points are maroon in color. You can see by the pictures looking at the fender flares how much clearance is gained over the stock bumper. I'll have to compare the measurements again, but I believe the stock bumper sticks out about 3" further as well, so departure angle is greatly improved.

I would make a new thread with these pictures since this thread has gone on pretty long and many people have probably not been keeping up, so if a moderator would give me the ok, I will make a new thread for people to check this out without digging through all the posts.

Now...is the bumper gonna clear a 31x10.5" tire on the stock tire carrier?

Go ahead and make a new post. As a matter of fact, you might put one together for the Vendor section too. * I'm only a moderator, but I don't see a problem with a new post showing all the pics leading up to this cool bumper. * I can lock this thread too if you like.

(*if an admin thinks otherwise, just let me know)

Yes. If you look at the cutout in the center, it isn't nice and round like the stock bumper, but the inner most points are the same dimensions, and a rubicon rim and MT/R will fit on the stock carrier. I designed the bumper to work with the stock carrier if someone just wanted the bumper, or you can add the carriers to it, so I only have to make one bumper to work with every setup. Saves the customer money with one design.

I'll make a new post. Thanks
