Hey guys, I found this site a while ago when I was first looking to get into a Liberty. I am back again thinking about trading my car in for a Liberty. I currently have a 07 Mazdaspeed6 GT and I really love the car but I dont enjoy the payments. I started looking at Libertys again because I really like the new style. What I dont like about the new trucks is the stupid "Limited Slip" and the extra weight. So, I am also looking at the KJ even thou I dont like the style much or the interior....... I do like how the truck is built.

I am basically looking for a good mild off-road rig and Daily Driver. I am really a Ford guy but they do not make a small suv with a solid rear axle. My last truck was a Ranger FX4 with a coil-over conversion and 5.5'' of lift. It was a great truck but I need the backseat. I like how the KJs are built and this site shows how capable they are.

I work for a dealer and we have a 06 Renegade for sale. It has 21k miles and is still covered my warranty until 1/23/10 (my birthday). Because I work for the dealer, I can get the truck for $13k. After it's said and done, I can have my payment go from $260/m to around $150/m.

I am not sure what I'm looking for, I just need a push to do the deal. I kinda want reassurance that it's a good price and that I'll be happy with the truck as a trail rig/DD. Thanks guys for any help.

:D

i have an 06 i just bought with 26k miles on it for $12,400 but it's a 4x2 so a 4x4 for $13k sounds fair to me. and i LOVE my renny!!!!! i traded my 04 renny with 104k miles on it for my 06 & with all the regular maintance, never had any issues with it! i highly recommend!

Perhaps this will seal the deal!

BTW, if you don't like the ESP of the 08+ models, you will not like the ESP in the 06-7 models either. ThunderbirdJunkie would strongly suggest an '05 if you like the flat-hood-era Renegades

How do you like the mazda6? It will be quite a change going from that to a kj.

I know there is a milage difference, but when I was shopping for mine in January, I was mainly finding 04-06 w/ 40-50k miles for around 9 to 11 k. I ended up with an '05 with 42k for $9,000. I'm sure an '06 w/ 20k for 13,000 is a fair deal, but it seems a smidge high to me, especially when you work for the dealer.

That said, I'm pretty sure used "values" have climbed in the last 3 months due to the shortage of used vehicles. If I was you, I'd ask whoever does your buying to find what the year, style, and drivetrain you want at auction and just let you buy it under their name.

I'm going to hold off for a week or two. I want to see what the used Jeep/dodge values do after the bankruptcy. I'm thinking we may see some people over react and move to a different make. I know Ford is running a rebate right now where you can up to a extra $1000 off if you trade in a Chrysler. Talk about kicking them while they are down.

I love the Speed6, I just miss having a 4x4. Also, have a wedding to pay for, so a lower payment would help with that.

good point on waiting to see what happens after the bankruptcy. We are looking at the used Wrangler market right now. As nice as the new 4 door JK's look I can't see buying new right now with all the turmoil.

Those are the stock renegade flares. No bushwacker flares for the KJ available.
