so i am having trouble finding a set but i need to replace the bushings on the front control arms, they seem to be sliding back and forth. anyone know where i should start looking for a bushing kit? i am trying to get it in decent condition to drive to texas in a few weeks (from indiana) and i know it needs an alignment done.

bushing arent the only thing i need replaced but im replacing for now what i need to get an alignment to hold for the trip, then fix the rest when i get back (one outer tie rod could be replaced, and one upper ball joint is starting to show play)

al has upper control arm bushings too they fit his arms and stock arms.
yea its gonna be a pain but gotta get it done. they lack of money and the shortness of time before the trip makes it pretty much impossible to get everything in the suspension fixed like i should so im going to end up at least paying for two alignments in the next couple months but i would rather not drive down when the jeep is vibrating randomly.

Maybe a 250ton air over hydraulic press might do the trick

I replaced my front lower control arm bushing with standard 20 ton press. No problems super easy job takes all of 15 minutes. Way easier than pressing ball joints. Makes me wonder why all the difficulty. Don't have a press, try local tire shop. Before I bought a press the local shop pressed my ball joints for $15 each. [/code]

My lower control arms slide on those bushings aswell. thought it was wierd but figured jeep may have engineered them to do that :? .
Its a 2006 with 30,000 miles seems alittle premature to be replacing a bushing that in all my other encounters with control arms should last atleast a 120,000 miles. Infact the only time I changed out a bushing on a control arm, was a vehicle had 206,000 miles and only one bushing was bad.

Cheaper to replace the whole arm than the bushings, if you're paying for labor.

At shop cost, though, it's $100 for the bushings, and $60ea for the cheap UCA's

i didnt think they were supposed to slide, put its possible i guess. anyone know for sure?

and yes i realized that i get bushings with the UCA after i posted, i will probably just get lower bushings for the trip if needed. although its possible i guess if i just take it in for an alignment it will still hold for a couple thousand miles while im on the trip

I just did the LCA bushings on my Dads Caravan they were in there really good so we burned them out with a Torch :CAMPING: toasty. Easiest was to get them out for sure. MY LCA bushings are also loose.
