Hello I want to install a chrome trimmed speedometer on my 03 Liberty Sport. Does anyone know if the mileage is stored in the speedometer or is it stored in the computer. I want to retain the original mileage if I can.

Nope,in the cluster.A dealership is the only authorized place to swap a newer instrument cluster,there's some paper work that needs to go along with it to be legal.

You do not need to change the cluster to get the chrome look. The plastic lens seperates from the cluster. I've changed my Sport lens for the limited Chrome lens on two different KJ's.
