pics? I was wondering where or how to mount the power tank after I put in the All J rack....

I don't have any but I know Troy has one of his.

Mine lays flat like is and sits all the way on the left hand side.

Tommudd: I see what you mean regarding "The Source". This system is only $340.00

As for the doubter's;
PowerTank B Pkg (10lb tank). - $509.95 (with the kit standard 200psi reg.) ADD + $40.00 for a 300 psi reg. = now you're at $549.95

I can build the following system;
Image
Gentic Reg $155.00
CO2 Purge Regulator: CGA-320, 1/4" FL Model # 452C-300-F, Max pressure: 3000 PSI, Max. Delivery Pressure 20-300 PSI, Inlet Gauge 2" 4000 PSI, Outlet Gauge: 2" 400 PSI, Inlet Connection: CGA-320, Outlet Connection: 1/4" same flare.

And at top end of the range, Offroad 10 lb tank w/ Line-X $149.00
(of course I already own a quailty rubber coiled air line, not a cheap plastic line that cracks under cold temps) and air chucks to inflate tires as well as impact tools. As for a bracket, how hard is it to fab one assuming I didn't buy one.

Regardless, my total build price = $304.00

The Powertank may be a good system, but it's over priced.

That regulator is not as good as the one from PowerTank and most of the Powertank price is the regulator.

Do tell. Why is this high flow regulator not as good as the one sold at Powertank? And why is the Powertank regulator better?

Power Tank, excellent product, but way overpriced, a home built system can do the job, and have $$$ left over for other things.. :D

That regulator will freeze up after about 5 seconds of use.It's not the PSI that really counts it's the CFM and that regulator will not have near the CFM as a PowerTank regulator which has like 33CFM rating.Higher CFM makes it faster to inflate tires,takes longer to freeze up,and also run air tools which require at least 7+ CFM to operate at peak power.You can have a regulator that puts out 1000psi but if it only has 2CFM it's kinda worthless.

I know I'm dragging this thread up from page two, but I thought I'd throw in my setup.

I have one of those Maxflow/Superflow/whatever $50 compressors, currently mounted underneath the passenger seat to the seat frame. It's hard wired in with a switch and pressure gauge under the dash and has the Viair pressure cut off switch installed as well. A hose runs under the carpet to the cargo area where I strap a Viair 2.5 gal tank with a quick disconnect so I can remove it if I need the cargo space.

I've had it there for about a year and a half, but this weekend I'm moving it back to its original install location: Behind the passenger side cargo area trim panel, in the cutout where the factory CD changer could have been. I've forgotten the reason I moved it from there originally, but I want the underseat space back.

I've had the compressor for about 3 years now and aside from a very small leak (I cracked the head by over tightening a brass fitting) it's worked flawlessly.

I've thought several times about building a false floor in the cargo area and mounting the air tank and two of these compressors under there to increase the airflow and allow me to run air tools from the set up.
