I just wanted to check and see if you had any more updates after putting some miles on the tires? I have a CRD and would like to get the same setup you have. I previously had these tires in a 255/85/16 on a LJ I had and liked them alot. I'm also a fan of the tall skinny tires so these look like they would be about perfect for what I want.

Thanks

Charlie

Hey Charlie and Diesel,

I really like the tires. I have only had a chance to do some light off road stuff and they are great so far in that area. I love the extra height and traction.
I have some rub on the inside of the wheel well when I turn full lock to the left. Not to the right. Road noise has gotten better since new but still comes in around 50mph to close to 60mph. It is a good bit of noise but not that bothersome and if you are running the radio its not much of an issue. Anyway, it is hard to describe the volume but it is very livable.
Two negatives. The handling is not what a AT or street tire would give (I guess that is expected). I can tell the tires are heavy when driving. Second, I just pulled a trailer and motorcycle on a trip this weekend and I could certainly feel the difference in power when going up slight hills.

Also, I did try some spydertrax 1.25 spacers and the fronts caused WAY TOO MUCH rub. I ended up taking them off. I thought it would be nice to have them for the wider track and to stop the full lock rub (as described above, and it did) but it caused way to much other rubbing. I would advise not to go with spacers if you have my setup.

And thanks Rayman975! :D

'06 KJ, I agree, my Frankenlift is probably lower than some. Don't know why. In fact, the left side was about a half inch lower than the right and Hood helped me clevis it which still didn't even it up with the right side. My KJ is a CRD also, so I don't think I will have as much height as gassers.

Here is a picture of the right side

I love my 235/85's. I will never go back. They are wearing pretty fast which doesn't surprise me. I have the CRD Frankenlift.
I don't know about the newer Liberty but with a 4 inch lift, I think you would have NO problems at all going with the 235's.

Good luck!

I wonder can you fit snow chains with enough clearance? Hmm this might be a problem for me

Now that you have put some miles on them how are they effecting your mileage?

Pre lift & tires best of 28, now best of 22. Both cases keeping it under 70 when on I-state.

 Time to re-gear. Going to 4:10’s would pay for itself pretty quick.

Those tires look deadly on your KJ! And I like your dogs eyes.

Why do it at all if you're just going to run a mall terrain?

And on your snow chain question...If you're going to run BFG ATs, you won't need chains.

Put some man tires on there!
