I searched for this info. all over the place. Im sorry if its a super repeat.

Im picking up an '05 CRD with 43500 miles on her. Id like to replace the serp belt as it hasnt been done before.

Should I replace the tensioners as well? If so there are three correct? Anyone know the cost of each?

Thank you

Tom

I have over 70K on mine and it's fine. I will replace it when the timing belt comes due.

I have 109,000 now and my belt looks great I just put a little high temp grease on the center of my pulleys and that quieted them down a lot no problem since I did that a year ago.

Manual says 37500 for schedule B, 62500 schedule A
I replaced the belt at 37500 - I figured I'd do belt and tensioners at 75,000

There's this concept - it's called preventative maintenance
it means it's easier to change parts in your driveway - than on the side of the road.

it may cost a little more - but I really don't like changing things on the side of the road.

You'll be in for a big surprise ($$$$) if you want to change out the entire tensioner...

Here's what I did.

I tried to look up a seller of Meyle 100145003 pulleys in the US and had no luck. Can anyone recommend one?
