Thought I'd post up a few pics of my bro-in-law wheeling his 2008 KK (totally stock, I might add) with us this past weekend up in Manistee National Forest...
Even he was impressed by what the KK could do!

Even with the crap years, a stock KK is still a force to be reckoned with

You should get him on here so I can plant ideas in his head

Oh, don't worry...I've been planting plenty of ideas - skid plates, rock rails, lift, etc....

If the park is in MI, then what's with the "Yes Virginia...." part?

Oh and Stratamet, where in NoVA are you? I'm obviously in Springfield.

It's a play on "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus..."

*sigh* guess I'm showing my age a bit too much....

Ah, guess my ADD prevented me from paying attention to the entire post you had, thought you meant you were in VA.

Springfield is right up the road from me (I actually have a morning meeting there tomorrow). I am in Lake Ridge. I am bummed about No camp jeep this year, as it is pretty close to where my dad lives, and I talked him into buying a liberty a few years ago and we were going to go wheel together down there. Understandable though, Chrysler can't file bankruptcy and then put on an event like camp jeep.

I'm really surprised the KK could do this on stock tires. Pushing through that much mud and water?! Amazing.

That first pick is my favorite. Jeeps are amazing. Does he plan on modding it up some for more offroad capabilitys?

So was everyone else on the trip. The guys with the big Wranglers were probably most impressed. I don't think our guide for the weekend had ever done any wheeling with KJ's or KK's before - he's been doing this for almost 27 years. Neither my bro-in-law (KK) or me (KJ) turned back from any obstacle.

All he's planning for are some skid plates right now. He mostly uses the KK as a tow vehicle behind their motorhome. But we all know what happens once the "mod bug" hits, right??? 8)

I think I'm more impressed by this picture. Any vehicle can get INTO trouble (like the first pic) but getting out of it is the test! :)

After getting beached in snow this past winter I've been a little gun-shy, since my vehicle is still in its stocky goodness. But maybe there are some challenges out there for us yet!

Manistee is in north eastern Michigan.

Actually its North WESTERN Michigan. About 3-1/2 hrs south of the U.P/Mackinac Bridge.
