 Post subject: hood pad.

anyone have a good method of cleaning the under hood pad??? mine has a lot of dirt spattered on it :oops: ... soon i'm going to give the entire engine bay and engine its self a real good scrubbing.. So i cant have everything clean execpt that!! any ideas?

Go to an RV dealer and get one of the sun shields for the inside of the windshield of a motorhome. Take the factory hood pad off and use it as a template to cut a new one. It does a very good job, cleans easley and won't hold dirty water.

I very carefully popped all the pins out thats holding it on and sprayed the heck out of it with a water hose. Also sprayed an all purpose cleaner in it, let it sock, then sprayed the heck out of it again.

Don't use a power washer... turns out it cuts into it and the insides come out :-(
