I was told that you guys like to wheel your Liberties! (Who knew?)
There's a HUGE all make, all ability, trail run in BOTH Paragon AP AND Rausch Creek, from May 19-21, 2006.
Its a 4WD consolidation event, to help strengthen the overall 4wd community.
Its called the Nor' Easter. Participants wheel in BOTH Paragon and Rausch Creek, with time divided between the two parks.
Its an event of CLUBS. We added a feature where you choose your wheeling partners, and have provided the option of clubs mixing with each other if desired, for example, Liberty Clubs and Xterra Clubs, or two different LOST clubs, or even individual trucks where ever they choose...its flexible. The only requirement is similar capabilities, to facilitate trail traffic flow.
We are in the process of surveying the trails, marking GPS coordinates, taking video and still pictures, and preparing to provide an extremely organized and smoothly flowing trail run. No one likes to wait while a guide ponders if he's on the right part of a map either.
The idea is to have participants use the color coded trail difficulty ratings to decide which groups will be most appropriate, and have the pictures, videos and descriptions of the trails involved to help them decide which runs are perfect for THEM.
We hate conga line trail runs...we want to sweat the details, and make each groups day cover as many challenging obstacles as possible, etc.
In addition to the wheeling, there's an Open Bar, an All Night Go Go Party, games, swag and raffle prizes donated by sponsors, and other activities.
There's also a Forum,
www.ne4wd.org dedicated to the event, where participants can coordinate, plan and discuss preparations, partnering, and suggestions for things they'd like to see.
For example, there has been a lot of interest in taking an optional group wheeling through Centralia, the nearby Ghost Town that was abandoned due to a still raging underground coal fire! Its an erie smoldering landscape in some places, and a strangly empty yet ordinary looking town in others.
So - You get to shape the event so that it works for you.
To keep the costs down we made arrangements for some discounts with local establishments, and bulk prices on food and so forth....and we will be passing this savings on to you.
To help with this process, and to help plan the required trail combinations for the hundreds of trucks involved, there is a Pre-Regisistration.
The Pre-registration members get the lowest prices, later registrants will pay proportionally more to compensate for the lost discounts and last minute adjustments, etc.
The Pre-Registration is FREE, quick and easy, and has no obligation, should your plans change, etc.
There is an interactive map of those pre-registered, and you can choose to add yourself if desired.
The deadline for Full Registration will be set once the work-up of the trail options indicates the practical capacity of the parks and popular trails, etc.
Just click the link below to go to the Pre-Registration area, and get ready for a GREAT Time!
