On moparpartsamerica.com the 3.7 clutch is 133 for 02-07 and the 2.8 is 141 for 05-06

I have no part numbers. the commonly sourced fsm and parts catalog don't have the clutch listed with a part number. (or i am blind)

Regardless i believe them to be the same part, but I ordered the 2.8 one anyway (obviously)

In the fsm that outlines the procedure to Test the fan clutch they list the same range of engagement and disengagement temperatures for both the GAS and DIESEL versions. I saw the fan clutch on a gasser the other day and it LOOKED to be the same.

One thing to check is if the rotation is the same on the fan clutch.....

check this out..

from Rockauto.com they are normally very cheap. 2006 limited liberty..
but
diesel
http://www.rockauto.com
$149 pn..CH3115148 More Info

gas
$75 or 84..
36781 for a Four Season part
or
$84 1540074 for an acdelco part

sound like a ripe off to me..

how would the viscous coupling know which way it was rotating? maybe there are other physical differences..bolt pattern..height..the gas doesn't have an intercooler so maybe the radiator is thicker/thinner than a diesel and fan clutch makes up the difference? just guessing here. so I'f I'm wrong..someone who know please contribute :)

Different hub diameter, different bolt pattern, different shaft diameter, different shaft length, different engage point, different release point, cw rotation, ccw rotation (viscous fluid doesn't know rotation, but the channels are different = inertia) - that's one difference between cheap versions and spec'ed version: the cheap ones cw or ccw, either way

3.7L viscous fan clutch 52079718AD

2.8L viscous fan clutch 55037688AA

Good choice on the 2.8L version........................
