That happened right out in an area I just wheeled twice within 3 weeks. Nasty roll, glad nobody was hurt badly. It has me shopping for a cage kit for my sons TJ for sure. I would hate to see the outcome of a roll like that w/ just a factory TJ bar.

I know the XJ guys that went up before the TJ and thought the video was going to be about one of them.....freaked me out as I watched each one....when I saw the TJ I knew it was going to be him..... wheelbase advantage on the XJ's made it easy for them. The last XJ up, (super built rig) is a clone of another rig that the owner had rolled end over end several times on a trail called Cleghorn less than a year ago. I was hoping it wasn't going to be him again for sure. fwiw he has a Full cage in That XJ as well as the one he previously rolled.

That just freaked me out.
It looks exactly like hills we tackle all the time. I was expecting some serious boulders or a bad off camber spot. Just goes to show that you can never let your guard down. I'm glad they're OK.

I recognized the first to XJ's there. No way you can miss Andy's purple and white XJ.

That white with wood panel wagoneer looks familiar.

Wow! Amazing since you watch the XJ's go up with no problems. I wonder if lockers were the norm in them and the TJ non-lockered.

Driver error, not equipment failure. Take it from a screw up who can recognize someone else doing it.

Good thing the title said TJ roll over. Seeing Mike and Andy go up that hill, I was a bit nervous.

It's little stuff like that. And i'm not a big fan of people who wheel with their dogs. You're strapped in, but your dog isn't.

Happy everyone was ok.

How would lockers prevent a roll over??? You can see when fully stopped all the weight got put on the drivers rear tire. If he came to a stop a bit slower, it might not have lifted the front end, putting all the weight all on one tire which collapsed.

Thank goodness nobody was severely hurt though!!!

The XJ's didn't have to stop and readjust. The TJ did. Either a bad line or lockers in XJ's and not the TJ.

It was because of locker creep that he slid and stopped in the first place. He had lockers but instead of going on, he stopped, backed and rolled it. Driver error. Locker creep is when you are on a steep side hill like that one and there is nothing but gravel, slate or shale beneath your tires that acts like marbles kind of. With a locker, instead of one tire spinning with an open diff, both spin together on the "marbles" and cause the vehicle to head down hill, in his case rear end first. So he stopped and reversed to get a better line and was too careless when reversing.

ditto.

same reason a rear locker equipped rig likes to slide the butt end out on ice and slippery surfaces where a standard diff wouldn't. lockers are not always the best solution in all situations.

I'd bet the xj's had better luck climbing that hill due to their longer wheelbase more than any traction device.

I was impressed that the passenger still has both arms.
