You think that all that rubbing I was hearing was from the tires hitting the pinchweld only? I cant really tell since I was in the cockpit  ... BTW, I got a front skid on it's way. Thats one down :P

doesn't take long rubbin the pinch for the plastic over it to start showing feathering and wear

i ordered terraflex bumps from JBA's last night, was 55.27 after shipping

i still need to jack mine up and beat my pinch welds down, had the hammer, heat gun, dremel and rubber undercoating sitting in the back seat for a week or two

yea i gotta build a shelf

i thought about usin an actual box for my tools, but the 189 piece (actual piece, not 50 tools and 139 screw driver tips  ) is compact enough and QUIET enough to suit me pretty good

i just stuff the 'extras' rails of fat allen heads and what not whereever they'll fit and not rattle

my favorite ratchet is a hand-me down 3/8ths china ratchet

it only works to take stuff out, it won't tighten anymore, need to take it apart and replace the innards

That's a whole lotta projectiles waiting to happen. All of my shizzle is strapped down. Imagine that torque wrench flying at your skull at 50 mph if you crash? You'd be Jeepin'Nohead.

then my life insurance will pay out pretty good

once i have a shelf it won't be a problem, not going to drastically change my cargo habits by velcro strapping everything down like a space shuttle there's usually enough stuff in my backseat or passenger area that would = projectile that it's pretty much a moot point

Simple. In 6 easy steps:

1. Jack-up the front of the vehicle and put it on jack-stands on both sides.
2. Take off the front wheels.
3. Take a pair of channel-locks, grab the OEM bumpstop towards one end and yank down. Repeat on the other side.
4. Take the aftermarket bumpstop, coat the part that has to go into the mount with some dishwashing liquid, and hammer it in with a rubber mallet. Repeat on the other side.
5. Put the wheels back on.
6. Lower vehicle.

Here is a photo of the OEM bumpstops next to the Teraflex ones:

It took less than 10 minutes for me to install the Terra Flex bumpstops. They were $21 each from Terra Flex and shipped the same day.

Reached in with a crow bar and pulled the stock ones out first try. Put a little lube on the new ones and popped them right in by leveraging the crow bar off the tire.

Have to a agree, all my gear is in a 16"x16"x36" aluminum Delta box that fits nice and snugly in the cargo area.

If you keep your gear just laying in the back, when you start off roading it's going to be flying around the back all the time, at least it woud where I go and the way I drive.

My problem with that is - Big tool box = no more cargo area, I've got probably 2 full sets of standard and metric sockets, couple ratchets, pliers, screwdrivers, full bit set, ect... all in a black and decker tool bad under the back seat. The probem i have to admit with my setup is their not easy or quick to get to, they need an external mount on toolbox for the jeep.....say Fabrication people, someone should see what they can come up with.

i've got a lead blanket (radiation blanket) that I throw over everything back there and while it's not a permanent fix, i've never had anything come off the floorboard while jumping dunes or plowing across nasty beach ruts

as hard as i've launched it it makes me less worried about anything short of a roll over

I do want a shelf back there that locks down though, with the blanket tucked under the edge of my 60lb jack/jackstands case, i've never heard anything even come off the floor but of course that's with the vehicle still upright :P

i rolled my bronco II and about got my head taken off when the speaker box in the cargo area went past my head and out the front window

therefore i AM at least conscious of the problem of loose items, and the speaker box wasn't even loose :P

Where can I get one of these?, I have a baby boy do mid August and I have been joking with my wife that I'm going to get one for his baby blanket, "honey, can you imagine how strong he'll get rolling around under or dragging that thing around?".

If I can actaully get my hands on one I'll LMAO as my wife freaks out and has me committed.
