I was getting ready to install an aux cooler so I had to cut the transmission cooler lines, just under the radiator. After I cut the line, I hooked up two hoses and started up the Jeep to flush out any junk that might have been in the lines. No flow at idle in Park.
Then I remembered that most Mopar trannys don’t run the pump in park. So I put it in neutral and just a real slow flow. What? When I have done this in the past, it would shoot fluid a couple of feet! I can pee more that what was coming out. I tried drive and reverse, same flow. I have not had any shifting problems or anything.
So I ask, is this right?

Sounds about right, newer trans have very low pressure going to the cooler. Some are totally no flow until a certain fluid temp is reached.

TF is initially not routed thru the cooler in order to promote quick warmup - it's all about emissions'n'stuff - you know the pump is functional by noticeable drag on engine rpm in any range but P\N
