Well, finally after what seems like forever (due to working waaay too much), got to spend today working on my KK. Here's what I did:
1. Hung my Jeep clock in my garage that was a recent gift from my dad to encourage me to spend more time in my garage and less time working:
2. Checked torque of almost all fasteners on my JBA 2.5" lift kit previously installed. None needed tightening.
3. Checked if the OEM jack can raise high enough for me to change a wheel/tire now that I've upgraded to 30.5" OD tires. The OEM jack works fine for the back but doesn't have enough travel for the front. I'm gonna have to carry a piece of 2x6 treated lumber to have enough jack height.
4. Checked if my larger 245/75R16 MT/Rs will fit in the spare tire area. It will. I'm gonna have a 245/70R17 MT/R mounted to the 17" spare rim so I'll have an equal size off-road tire with me as my spare. Good for anytime, but also trying to get prepared for LJS in Ouray in a month.
5. Enjoyed checking out my aftermarket wheels and MT/Rs on my KK. I love the look. I'll do a detailed posting Sunday with info and some of the research and considerations I evaluated.
6. Installed locking lug nuts on my new wheels.
7. Extended all 4 breathers on the KK. I plan to post a "how-to" Sunday. I could've done this a lot faster if I knew where everything was and only made 1 trip to buy supplies.
8. Removed the lower front air dam. Again, I plan to post a quick "how-to" Sunday.
9. Bought oil & filter to do the first oil change on my KK but ran out of time today so I plan to do that Sunday.
...what a refreshing and enjoyable day working on my KK Liberty.
..now off to meet one of my aunts for wonderful Kansas City barbeque.
