I've wondered for years why the buyers of cars allow the dealer to put those ugly dealer badges on their cars? Do they get a discount off the sticker for being a rolling advertisement for the car dealer?

Here in the So. Cal. area you don't see as much of this as you do elsewhere, I don't know why. I don't mind the Jeep badges so much but I would not want some dealer's badge put on my new car I just shelled out thousands of dollars for, or will have by the time it's paid off!

Just thought I'd "toss it out there." Thoughts? Opinions?

Last couple of cars I bought were special order high demand vehicles that I picked up right after the truck delivered them. The dealer didn't have time to add his goodies to it. My KJ was bought from CarMax (excellent shopping experience) and it had the bright yellow tags F&R and a bright yellow key chain and bright yellow paper mats and a black CarMax sticker on the tailgate.

I did take all the stuff off pretty soon after taking delivery, but if I hadn't, no one would have seen the CarMax sticker anyway since my bumper install.

Mine get dealer de-badged as soon as I leave the lot. I requested they not badge my KJ when I ordered it. Picked it up the day it arrived on their lot so they didn't get a chance to prep it.

At least the dealer I bought mine from was smart enough to not put dealer stickers on the back of it. Any car I've ever bought I've made them take the sticker off, or no buy!!

De-Dealer badged mine before I even pulled out of their lot with it

My last dealer purchased van had to be debadged and unpinstriped as part of the deal.

The last new vehicle I purchased from Chevrolet didn't put badges on the body. They just use license plate frames and paper license plates with their name on them. Which did come off eventually.

Mine did not come with any dealer badge or sticker. It did have a front license plate frame. That was it and it was gone in no time.

I got a sweet pair of Saturn license plate covers. It was an added bonus.

I bought mine from Lithia, it came with the front and back Lithia plate covers, a lithia tire cover, and all of it got thrown away before i started the rig on their lot. Got a pissed off look from the salesman too, but I don't believe in free advertising, if they want to pay me every month for putting their name on my rig I'll be more than happy to comply. This includes tags by manufacturers no ARB stickers, no alpine or kenwood stickers, the only exception i make is the NRA and when i get it my L.O.S.T. stickers.
