Saving Gas with Water

I ran across a system that pulls the hydrogen out of water and uses it to partially power your engine. It sounds like a complicated mess, but from the pictures it looks like anyone can put one of these together and it says it does NOT void warranty. I read a few reviews and it sounds like people are getting anywhere from a 20-50% increase in fuel efficiency and the engine runs much cleaner. One review stated that oil changes aren't needed as frequently due to the engine running so much cleaner. This all sounds a little too good, has anyone tried this or know anything about it? Ok so this is from the mythbusters testing and I guess it was based on a car running on just water.

But the other thing is, on the website that is advertising this kind of eludes that the Honda Clarity runs on water, it doesn't it runs on compressed hydrogen and the exhaust is water, if thats what you want to call it.

The car is available in CA as a lease only and is insainly expensive, it is not a Japan only thing. I didn't read everything, but the reality is if it really worked you would be hearing alot more of it don't you think? Instead of the govt making all the gas users go away they would talk about something like this.........

Granted it must be true cause I read it on the internet right?

Yeah anything on the internet has to be true.....NOT. Thanks for the reply's and link to mythbusters. I'll have to check it out when I have a few extra minutes.

you will never EVER be able to run anything on water. there is no energy in water period. yes you can produce hydrogen with water ... by using 2X more energy than you will get out of it :roll:

. Water is like a dead battery. you can recharge it but you wont be able to extract more energy out of it than you put in it in first place + all the loss

To add to this...

If you add water into a Old car, it might clean up the intake chamber.
If the Intake chamber is cleaned up like knew, the car might get back old life...

So that might be part of it...

Lets just say if this did work, i think Ford would have it on 1 of it cars.

It can't work - basic violation of the 1st Law of Thermodynamics.

it can potentially confuse the engine sensors - which will force the engine to run lean - while will get better mileage until you melt pistons and burn exhaust valves - and when that happens - any warranty co. will laugh in your face - no way it's covered.

You're correct about the engine sensors. This kit has an O2 sensor relocation position and moves the Mass Air Flor Sensor. There's also a dial you mount inside the car to control how much fuel is going to the engine (I beleive this dial is directly connected with the Mass Air Flow Sensor). Basicallly you turn the dial until the car chugs a little then back it back down...this is supposed to lean out the fuel and this is where you save fuel. So it's possible you could burn something up I guess.

These types of kits have been around for years now. Obviously, if they worked as they are advertised, you would see them in mass production via toyota.

By the sounds of your description here, you're simply "watering down" your gasoline - enough said.
