How to get a pass.
Stop by the Eglin AFB Natural Resources Office (850) 882-

Their hours are:
7:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Thursday
7:00am - 6:00pm Friday

Getting close, passes are very important to have !! Can't ride without them especially on a holiday weekend they will be out checking. We got checked on Easter sunday at 5pm on a road i don't remember ever passing anyone in two years on. If you get caught you lose yours for a month and the fine, which I don't think any of us can afford, if i get caught i lose mine for a year being that i aready have a violatian. So we will check passes that includes passengers.

They have times on map, I think it's around a hour before and after light. It may be better to do on fri. Sun set at point then head back is best bet. After a long day riding on sat it don't get dark till 8:30 9 pm might be rough.

We embarrassed him too much last time! haha no but he got a new truck (07 gmc sierra) and he is afraid of the trails. I understand though, he needs to make this truck last. The last one he had to replace the head gasket, rebuild transmission, replace about every joint in the front end, had all kinds of mystery noise.

So he won't be wheeling it. He may ride with me, or take our scottsdale out there, IF it can make it over that far.

West of 87 is best area. We found a few differnt trails close by. We can start with east river run , it's fun if we get some rain, couple creek crossings and a few sloppy spots. Probably putting d35 back in this weekend 44's not done yet. So we will try to find a good ride.

BILL:

I see there are a couple of campgrounds along the top of 87. Have you been to them? The one looks like it might be right on 87. I wonder if I could get my camper in there? I'm going to take a look at Google Earth and see what it looks like.

This map shows where the main campground (FAMCAMP) is and the one off 87. It looks like the Rt-87 one is doable. There are no hookups there though. The FAMCAMP has cement pads and full hookups. Decisions decisions!

I've been by both. Buck pond and weaver river. They're not that great, buck pond is the better of the two. I've seen cars at buck pond weaver river can get rutted up with that loose sand I don't know how easy you can get there. no power or restroom at either. And you need a camping pass besides you rec. pass. At least by use you'll have a rr and power.
