Just got an email from GDE saying that my ECU is shipping back to me today and that I should receive it tomorrow! Assuming that I do get it tomorrow, I'd call their turn around quite impressive.

Okay... Got my ECU back in literally 48 hours from the time I boxed it up. Turn around is impressive. (I'm in the Baltimore area, used USPS)

For what it's worth, I do have the Suncoast TC, Shift kit, and Magna Flow cat back system. I also had the Inmotion tune, so my comments will based on all of that.

First impression after installation:

Startup- Somehow seemed to start more easily... not that I really had a problem with starting before.

Idle- Smooth... a tad more "diesely"

First drive around the block in a residential area- Hard to describe. I guess I would have to say that you could feel the power up from idle a bit sooner, and that it felt a bit more like it was "ready to go" at residential (~25 MPH) speeds. Somehow felt more "solid" I guess.

First drive out of the neighborhood (Up to about 45 MPH) felt pretty much the same as I described above. At these speeds I didn't notice a whole lot more overall umpff over the Inmotion tune... but it was definitely "less harsh."

First drive up to HWY speeds... I'm happy. What more can I say. Plenty of power. Again... somehow it all seems smoother. I'd have to say more refined.

First run (Straight line) through the lot behind the parts store where I work part time.... Wow. Second run with ESP off... I thought GDR said less smoke??? Oh... wait... That was *diesel smoke* not *tire smoke*!!

MPG reporting will have to wait! I'm having too much Lead footing it for right now!

Overall initial feeling refarding GDE: VERY SATISFIED!

Press the ESP button on the top of the steering column.

The button turns it off but not all the way. the only way to turn it off fully is to pull the fuse.
Go go 05 :) no esp

There are some functions of ESP that I feel are desirable. As I recall there are a total of SEVEN  I think it turns enough off to satisfy most. One function is the "Brake assist". Try it sometime. On a panic stop it recognizes it's a panic and applies max braking power. Might be a good thing to have all the time just warn the person behind you

I find ESP to be a good friend 90% if the time. The only times it was ever a hinderance was trying to climb steep grades (loose rock and/or dirt)or cross deep mud on the trials. Once I installed a DTT, a lot of those problems vanished.

Hi All. First post.

I wanted to give my first impressions on the Green Diesel Tune. First thing I noticed was quick throttle response from a dead stop with a gentle push on the pedel.
Second is a increase in fuel mileage on a 400 mile trip. First half in the AM when it was cool and AC was used only briefly. Fuel mileage was 25.7 my best ever. Second trip, same speeds, same roads only the AC was on most of the time on setting 2 and I got 28.499 mpg. This is based on the odometer and hand calculated. Speeds were about equal amounts of 70, 65 and 55 MPH. Color me GREEN I'm not sure but the idel speed could be a tad lower as it does not seem to pull as much while stopped in drive. I'll need to verify that. I also noticed a slight increase in the idel speed on a cold start that tapers back down in about 2 seconds. The engine seems more responsive from a stop to freeway speeds. I'm not a 0 to 60 person so to that I'll just say "yes".
There is a little more music from the engine and the turbo's voice is fantastic. It will be a while before I'm able to report on intown driving but Keith of Green Diesel tells me the tune really shines there. Never had shudders and don't have them now.

EDIT. I was not clear on my trip mileages. First half was with oem tune. Second half was with the Green Diesel tune.

EDIT: I just checked my idel speed. It has not changed, still 760 rpm's

i shipped it on Wednesday morning USPS next day, delivered to my door today (Friday)
Just re-installed the ECU. plugged MAF back in, and drove about a 2 mile circuit.

First impressions: at least as much power and performance as I had with MAF unplugged. but the engine seems to run a bit smoother too. Can't really say much else. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've got some mileage data from last summer that I'll post to compare with my results over the next couple of weeks.

Actually, my 2c (which is now worth about .0005c due to inflation), Greendiesel came on, some skeptical people threw some tough but reasonable questions back at him, and he came back with steady, non-defensive answers. I don't know anything about Greendiesel's product (and never will 'cause I don't have a CRD) I at least have to give him props for staying professional, and answering, point by point, everything asked of him. I say fair play to greendiesel.
