ok cool anyone else have any words of wisdom?

Use a suction pump to draw most of the fluid out the fill tube before you drop the pan if you can. Otherwise you MAY have a huge mess if you're not really careful. I tried my luck and ended up with ATF all over myself and my driveway, and I'm the kind of guy who usually doesn't spill a drop when I change my oil.

Can I make a request? Would someone be willing to do a thread on servicing the transmission and put it in the Tech Section? This is my first time to own an Automatic; I've always driven manual transmissions and servicing them is a breeze compared to this. If we had a thread there with a step-by-step on servicing the transmission, I'm sure a lot of members (myself included) would benefit greatly.

I did a search and found a link for a step by step with pictures, I believe it sent me to another KJ site. Thats what I used and I just did this my first time ever at 67000 miles.

It is very messy but the dealer wanted 200 for it and I think 100 for the transer case. The transfer case is a peice of cake but the trans is very messy, I really tried to be careful too and got fluid all over.
