 Post subject: Ball joint almost seperated

had the day off work today, went to lunch with a couple buddies from work about 20min ago, on the way home, a whole 1/4 mile drive on a 50mph zone, i got a bad thumping coming from the jeep, i get home, visually inspect everything, everything looks ok. i grab the bull bar on my ARB, shake the Jeep side to side and hear a nasty clunking, i look under the jeep as im doing it, yep, drivers side upper balljoint moving around like a bobblehead doll, GREAT!! :evil:

I have a set of stock with about 10,000 on them for cheap if you're interested? I could bring them to Jeep skool on Fri. and maybe you could change it out at the factory.

i just finished fixing it. i went to a junkyard down in massilon and got a upper control arm for 35 bucks, all fixed! much much nicer shape than my old one. much tighter steering, now when i turn my wheel on the highway or around town, my jeep actually turns instead of slop.

I'm still getting the upper control arms from www.jeepinbyal.com .but they can wait a little bit until i can afford them. now that my jeep is safe to drive again. the passenger one i got replaced under warranty with a mopar brand new unit, about 6 months ago. i got the extended warranty when i got my jeep used. but this time around i couldnt do that because it expired

thanks though nick! i might still take them off your hands until i can afford al's arms. let me know a price and ill take em as spares.

Location: Niagara Falls,Ontario,Canada.
I had my ball joints replaced under warranty, and
just a little while ago replaced those with 'MOOG'
brand ball joints, only because they have a
grease fitting on them and have a life time
warranty if you do regular maintenance.
They do not cover the R&R on them..
