Yeah... this is going to get moved and then locked.....

You're figures are all wrong, there's no way unemployment can be over 8%. This is why the stimulus bill was passed without reading it; the Feds said if they didn't rush it through now, unemployment would rise beyond 8%.

You really should check your facts, in this new age of transparency, there's no way we can be deceived.

I feel for those struggling and I wish you all well. I have been through these kinds of messed up times in the past. Things will turn around.

I have been very busy, did more work in the first 5 months of this year than all of last year. Last year was a record year....................

Our company seems like it is on its last leg. Scissor lifts are just about the last think companies buy when strapped for cash. I'd guess we're doing about 1/3 of the business that we'd normally do, if that.

Unemployment rates by state: http://www.bls.gov/lau/

Michigan has a 14.1% unemployment rate! The highest in the country.

Despite that I have a job interview today....so we will see!!

Even if you "think" the posted figure is off. I live in Michigan which as posted above is at 14.1%. This poll is just to see what the LOST national average is.

Illinois is 10.1%. Luckily, I live in the Chicago metro area where it's easier to get a job.
I feel for the downstate and rural areas where 1 or 2 companies going under
can make or break a whole town.

The joy of Federal employment....If they wipe out your position,, they have to find you a new one but it may not be in your field of training, just has to be at the same level of pay.

Plenty of openings out there. Great Bennies.

As with ambulances, there seems to be a pretty steady demand for military helicopter pilots.

I've still got my job but I had my monthly bonus pulled. My wife is still looking. We are struggling right now. I just hope things have already hit the bottom so they can only get better from here.

Still employed here,we have been setting record profits over the last 7 months at work. They even hired 2 new guy's just to help relieve the work load on us and I'm still flagging at least 60+ hours a week. From the looks of it we may set a record year,as of July 1st we have netted $950,000 dollars in parts + labor alone which is about $300,000 more then the previous year at this time. The sad part is it is drastically cutting into the SFA swap time,I'm usually wore out by the end of the day and/or my brain is fried from diag's.
