Hi guys,

I recently changed my fuel filter. When I removed the filter there were 2 of the small diameter (~1/2") black rubber gasket/o-rings stuck to the threaded tube that holds the element in place.

I can see that one of them came off the filter when I unscrewed it. I am curious about the second one.

Either it is supposed to be on the filter head.

Or it came off last time I changed the filter, and I did no notice it and screwed on a new filter with 2 gaskets.

If anyone has a filter head, can you check and see if there is supposed to be a rubber gasket on the head. If this were the case it would be a rubber-to-rubber seal.

Thanks,

Kevin

There's only supposed to be one rubber gasket for the filter. So on a previous change it was not removed

Thanks Joe,

I removed both from the threaded tube when I installed the new filter. So the new filter went on with one small inner gasket (~1/2 inch) and one large (~2-1/2 inch) outer gasket only.

I went to the dealer this morning and they do not have a graphic of the filter head without the filter element installed.
