RRO INSANE A-ARMS: Updated w/ pics

I ordered my set of the RRO INSANE A-ARMS & got verification from UPS. Expected delivery is 17 July 09.. I will keep everyone posted...

Here is a pic for those who dont know what Im talking about:

UPS arrived with a package from RRO today as expected. Everything was well secured & packaged nicely. Let me start by saying these Insane A-arms are Insanely beefy & seem to be well made. The welds look very professional. I must say that I am very satisfied with my purchase. Pictures to be posted soon...

Upon further inspection of The RRO Insane Aarms, I found that I am missing a metal sleeve that goes into the bushing. I double checked the box & nothing. Im thinking it failed to be installed during manufactoring of the product. A email followed by a phone call to customer service is on the to do list for tomorow. Install date is being pushed to a later date. Pictures to be posted soon...

I am going to pick up my lift tommorrow morning, and as for arms I am going to pick up a set also. Curious to see how they work. Are you going to buy the bumpstops that go on the arm itself?

I posted before that I was going to get them & do a review. I finally had the money so I took the plunge. Yes I did order the bumpstop extender with the A-arms. Im not sure if I will need them since I have Teraflex bumpstops but I like the idea of not having to notch my bumpstops. Although I believe it will limit travel with my Teraflex bumpstop & the A-arm bumpstop. I will also do a review with the stock bumpstops to see if the A-arm bumpstop extender will be sufficent enough. Instead of having to order the front Teraflex bumpstops with a lift. In the long run if everything works out these A-arms could save people some money.

If you have the Teraflex, you will not need them. These are only if you do not have extended bump stops. keep us updated.

3 grease points also. Does Al's A-arms have those extra grease fittings?

Those are really nice! Al's only has the grease points on the ball joint. And it has a housing for the ball joint. So it doesn't get smashed maybe? Also, I'm no expert, but that looks like it has way thicker (better) welds.
So let me get this straight...three grease fittings, instead of one, protection for the ball joint, stronger welds, and their cheaper??? I think we may have a new winner.

stronger welds? Don't see it, I would still rather pay more for someone who stands behind their product no matter what, but time will tell how this all works out, hopefully it does for those that think its a better deal.

Supporting his product? Wouldnt that mean that he would replace his arm for free, instead he had to pay for the upgrade. To me that seems to be making money with no support. And on top of that, he will probably reweld the arms again and sell them for more profit.

The addition of the zerks to the bushings isn't really going to make them last longer, if any thing, it will make it wear out faster. they are going to attract dirt like mad. There is a reason why you grease heavy equipment after 10 hours, it's to push all of the dirt out of the bores and pins.

IIRC JBA will (and has) replace his arms if they do break. If you wish to upgrade an older set of arms to a new set, you have to pay a fee, but it is nowhere near retail.

RRO on the other hand has a long history of poor customer service. Shipping wrong products, make the customer pay for shipping them back. taking money say it is in stock or shipped yet takes three months to get. There are members of the board who have given them over a thousand dollars and still haven't received their products (I believe after 3 years). Their business tactics are horrible, has everyone forgotten the "Frankenstein Lift" they mocked on their website, or JBA's bubble gum colors?

These issues exist outside of this board and the KJ community. They are well known across the WWW for their massive suckiness.

I'm sorry, I don't care how cheap they are compared to the competition, I will NEVER buy from RRO.

AllJ's should have replaced those arms no questions asked, actually upgraded for free. It is pretty serious when you have UCA break while driving, liability issues alone he should have instigated a recall.

It doesn't matter if there is an upgrade charge or free replacement if you are killed when your arms break.
