Neither end of this statement make me want to buy their arms or show good service for old styles, which apparently are known to be less than great. Replacing them if they break? If you're on the highway doing 55 the least of your worries is your $385. And as far as "nowhere near retail" from what I see the upgrade is $275. Thats 71% of the cost of new ones. I bet they are still making $75 to $100 profit replacing possibly unsafe A-arms, if not more. I agree with JL Rockies 100%:

If my daughter was hurt on the way to school because welds on my A arms broke, I'd be breaking my free replacements off in somone's A%%.

You do now that Marlin did not run/own JBA for the 1st couple of versions of the a-arms right? He bought the company from Al(the original JBA) and that's when the GEN4.5's and GEN5 arms came out.He may have produced them for Al but found it needed upgraded when he bought the rights. So don't blame him, like I already stated there has been more OEM UCA failures and they have issued a recall if you haven't heard.

APRIL 2009 -- Chrysler is recalling 42,469 MY 2002-2003 Jeep Liberty vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in salt belt States of Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia , Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The front suspension upper control arm ball joint may experience a loss of lubrication which could lead to corrosion, accelerated wear, and possible separation while driving. Failure of the ball joint could result in a loss of steering capability, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the front upper control arm assemblies free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. 09V-119

Why is the recall limited to only 02 & 03, is there any difference in the UCA after 03?

I was not aware of that. I do feel for him, as he is still kind of responsible for product in the field, but that does complicate things alot. I appreciate his situation a little more now.

and the UCA recall was based on Salt and what not right

I'd imagine if there was a difference it was a difference in where and how the joint boot was made

OK, everyone seems to have an opinion on RRO and JBA, why don't we leave it be and see how the RRO arms work and if there are any issues with them, since they are what the OP posted about to begin with. Most everyone knows the RRO customer service is crap and most feel JBA should replace all the early model A-arms they sold and should do it for pennies on the dollar or free. So let's hold off the bash this and bash that posts until we get a real review of RRO arms.

Thanks INC... This thread was totally going in the wrong direction. The purpose for this thread is to basically test/review the product.

I agree - bashing/supporting can be done (and is!) on a separate thread, if and when RRO don't stand behind their product in the event of a failure/bad workmanship.

Nosnorb - I look forward to reading your review when you've had a chance to fit and run the arms!

The optional bumstop is removable. However I do think there is enough clearance to grease.

A 90-degree angle zerk would work better there.

Glad to hear that you got the arms and everything looked good. Can't wait for pics! :D
