Yes get the 4.5s for sure, thats what Chris and I have, well all the cool guys do, right Chris
I would like to have a set of 5s though, but not sure if he even made anymore after he started making the 4.5s. Like to have them when I redo just to see how they would work with more lift than I have now

They are an LLC... I think that's their insurance

LLC isn't insurance, all that does is keep the principals from being personally sued. Ie, the company can still be sued into the dirt, but that suit or liability cannot extend to the personal property of the owners.

I looked up recalls for the '03 Liberty on the NTSB website and saw Rock Krawler listed. Apparently they used some grade 2 bolts where they should have used grade 5. Have any of the JBA A-Arm failures been reported to the NTSB? I would think that with that high a rate of failure, that they (the NTSB) may get involved.

I am about to go to Colorado and Moab for two weeks of wheeling. I have what I believe to be the Gen 2 A-arms. I am now pretty nervous about them failing. Is there anything I can check before we leave and during the trip to make sure that they are going to be OK? I can see going down Black Bear trying to make the really tight switchback and the A-Arm breaks.

Check for rust at the welds... I'd take your old OEM's with you for insurance....

Just clean them really well around the welds and check them close, same thing you do with any part befoe you leave on a long trip.

Interesting what you found regarding Rock Krawler as well

Do they usually show signs of cracks before they break?
