KJ vs a semi and a tour bus. Story says the young woman's KJ blew a tire. I'd sure be wondering about a ball joint failure if I was her family:

EDIT: I took another look at the pic in the local paper, where it ran larger. Looks like the rear tire on the driver's side went out. So I guess no ball joint issue. Still very sad.

Hate to say this, but cars don't just "veer across 4 lanes of traffic" when you lose a tire.

This is a great example of why driving schools should be a lot more emergency-intensive rather than GO THE SPEED LIMIT USE YOUR TURN SIGNAL...

Lots of lives could be saved if people weren't so itchy to save a dollar on their childrens' education and safety.

We should all observe a moment of silence. One less KJ on the road. They're not making more of them, remember.

what is that CHP dude doing in that picture? It looks like he's either sending a text message or taking a picture with his cell phone.

I haven't seen any of the CHP wearing those boonie hats in this area.

He's taking a picture with a cellphone. And, yeah, the hat is ... odd.

I've seen it happen ... down in ATL on a trip ... heading back to the airport .. i heard a loud bang and looked over to the right ... nothing unusual for a moment .. then I noticed the car slightly ahead and right of me just starting to drift ... once it got sideways there was no way the driver was going to control it. car slid across three lanes just like that and back over two lanes before it got under control ... it was a wonder noone hit it.
