ThunderbirdJunkie does not see what's wrong with sniffing farts, as long as you do not do it on company time or when you can endanger other people.

Do not understand what's up with all you narcs

Why buy all the contraptions? Go old school.

When in bed with your significant other, let one rip and then pull the covers over both your heads. Share everything together........

Another reason I am divorced....

Same here, I'm listening to DadSon For Whom The Bell Tolls now. It's better than what I had playing on iTunes. Interesting that he set his Roland set up in a right-hand configuration, even though he's left-handed. Must be a setup limitation of the Roland elec set.

no, a limitation of me! lol.

thats just how i learned to play. could never do the cross handed way of playing if thats what you mean. i am right handed though and play the guitar that way too. taught self on guitar in 2000, and drums in 2005. its all fun.

and thanks to everyone whos enjoying me and my son playing. maybe we can get some more like that up soon.

Very cool! 8) I didn't realize that was YOU! I see now that the thread topic says it was you though.

The set sound is awesome! I have a Yamaha DTXpress and can NOT get it to sound like Lars' set to save my life.

That's really cool that you taught yourself. You may not call yourself left-handed, but if you can play tempo high-hat with your left hand, you're more left-handed than you give yourself credit for. Most righties play tempo with their left hand like they throw a baseball with their left hand.

Did your son teach himself too? Or did he learn watching you? He was whaling that guitar. Very impressive!

I'd love to see more videos of you guys jammin'! Listening to your videos got me through the longest of work days....day 4 of a 4-day workweek.

i taught him some chords and he just took off from there.

i got mine close to lars sound except for the snare. i need it to be a bit deeper but cant get the settings right. the toms sound very close and the kick is close too. would be better if i could get a sub hooked into it as well. i like the "and justice for all" sound and the rtl sound.

That left-handed style is called "open-hand," and I wish I wish I wish I WISH I could play like that. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks, though.

I respect where you guys are coming from with the elecsets, but I just cannot stand them. The closest I've ever come to the response, sound, and feel of an acoustic set is on the Rolands that have the tunable drum pads and moving hi-hat/ cymbal pads.

I play a Premier set with 7-ply birch/eucalyptus shells, Yamaha hardware, and a mix of Sabian cymbals with Zildjian hi-hats. Got some LP stuff on the side just for fun. I almost upgraded to pure birch Yamahas (like Carter Beauford plays - my drum hero) about a year and a half ago but stayed with my current kit because of the punchy yet sustained sound. I may have to do it now, though. My low tom is slightly out of round on the batter side so I have to re-tune it all the time. I guess that's to be expected with a twelve-year old drum kit that stays somewhere where the temperature and humidity varies during the week.

"Open hand." I knew there was a term for that, but couldn't remember it. Drum classes in middle and high-school were a LONG time ago.

I'm with you Flair, the Justice and RTL drum sounds are, by far, the best of Lar's set sounds. You have done a great job getting your Roland to sound similar.

"Pretty funny, hooah. I reconnize myself." -- BHD

Very nicely produced. And not too far over the edge.
Very funny.
