Are you saying that all jeep stuff has to be male? I've seen some very nice jeep girls.
but back to topic I don’t think what we call our jeeps is going to make any difference in how people perceive them. People will either respect them or they wont, the only thing that really matters is weither or not WE enjoy the time spent in or working on our jeeps

just my .02

I like the way ferg put it. Let's face it, I know that there have been some really pissed of "feminine" figures in history capable of lots of destruction (i have yet to meet a woman incapable of making my life a living H E double hockey sticks). I refer to my Jeep as being female because I love it and when I have this much love for anything it's generally a girl...

You guys keep complaining about our bad rep in the media. It could be worse. Look at the guys in Hummer's. I feel bad for them. http://www.fuh2.com. A whole website dedicated hating Hummers. I hear of people vandalizing H2's all the time, spray painting them and keying them just because they hate them. I have yet to hear of that happening to a Libby owner. We got it pretty lucky. We aren't seen as terrible people for the vehicles we drive. Besides-I love an underdog and thats what we are!

We bought our Liberty when my Wife was 7 months pregnant as a safe 4x4 buggy for Mom and the baby opposed to getting a mini-van. I still want to get rid of our Bimmer and get an Audi Allroad. I love those, I test drove a few they are awesome...

I fun a lot but it really is a good little rig, 4x4 and 4x2.

It could have done without the aluminum front diff or the Dana 35....all in all, it does well.

What's going to happen next? Are soccer moms and business men going to start buying farm tractors to mow their yards with? Same principle there. I guess after a short time tractor companies would start "pussifying" their tractors to better accomdate the casual users at home. Next thing you know they'd all have AC, 5 inches of ground clearance, chrome wheels, and street tires. What a joke. I say buy what you need. If you don't go off road or live in the snow belt then don't buy a 4x4 truck or SUV. Those people are ruining it for everyone. Oh well...I'm bound to get flamed for this one. But it just really upsets me. This is why we have to buy watered-down 4x4s these days...because they are being tailored for the street so soccer moms won't complain about the height of the vehicle or fuel economy.

As one of those soccer Mom's, I will drive what ever they put out there on the market if I want to, you piece of crap, wife beater wearing, knuckle dragging, slack jaw Neanderthal! Image

Well guys and girls I found this in the current issue of Truck Trend on page 79 which is in reference to East Central Utah and the Tavaputs Plateau:

"A recommendation: Take plenty of water and drive to the bottom of Sheep Canyon (four wheel drive and a good deal of patience was required with our Jeep Liberty)." (Lazelle Jones)

I have never driven this road so I take it as a neutral statement which is better then the negative swill we are used to getting. The article has a nice photo of what appears to be '05 Rocky Mountain Edition Renegade in dark blue. It's hard to tell the color as it is D-I-R-T-Y (strange to see a watered down/feminine/posuer/did I miss one? in a mainstream magazine).

Looks like a nice drive...anyone got any experience on this? is it pretty weak and I should take the comment as offensive or would patience be required for most 4x4's?

As mentioned in another post even on the JP magazine website there are two reasonable reviews of the Liberty and what it can and cannot do.Maybe they should read some of their own material. As a lifelong resident of Colorado I can guarentee that a stock Liberty can traverse any legal 4wd pass in the state....be sure you have the factory skid plates and if you're careful you won't put a scratch on them.

Everyone knows that you name your vehicle a girl's name. I'm not gonna get back from a trail ride and give "Barry" a sponge bath, now am I?

Se7enLC raises a great point...but why do girls then still refer to their vehicles as being female? How about a female perspective?

I personally don't name my vehicles.

In my opinion if you're calling your Jeep "libby", or "renne" you should be giving "Barry" a sponge bath.
