Light throttling issues

Ok here is hte deal, I am not ahuge of of Drive by wire.
Becuase this system has issues.

But maybe it has been fixed and I can go to the dealer for a program flash. i have not done this yet...

here is the issues. Driving at 65 mph, I go to gas it a bit, this means less then 10% more pedal effort.
Results: RMP drop 200 to 400. I have to press down more, then the car down shifts and get moving faster.

I hate this...

Is this:
1. normal
2. not normal
3 not normal has been addressed go see the dealer.
4.or I am expecting to much?

well, I vote for number 1.

I don't know about the RPM dropping 200 to 400 RPM, but if you are driving at 65 and want the thing to downshift, you do have to mash a little on the acellerator pedal.

I'll have to try that and see if mine drops 200 RPM or more. I did notice that after installing the E3 plugs, it seemed to have a lot more response if I just pushed on the pedal lightly, not enough to make it downshift.

I have this problem all over from 5 mph to 80mph the throttel response sucks i tap the gas and I go from 2000rpm to 5000rpm I called chrystler to complain all they said is we have heard alot about this. And then I say and. and they say nothing. did I mention I love chrystler.

The electronic throttle does lag ... Not sure what can be done about it at the dealer.

I spoke to B&G and they DO address the issue on their PCM flash program. I'm not sure how the process work but from what they said, "We take the lag out and make the acceleration much quicker and smoother"

Someone had posted this info a while back ... You might want to give this a try and see if it works and fixes your issues
"Im not sure if this works for Jeeps,but on Dodge Chargers,we can recalibrate the throttle buy turning key to on position,press the gas pedal down then let up pedal slowly.Turn off key,then start and the throttle should take out the hesitation.I had to do this to my Charger,and it worked.Its one of the biggest complaints.I hope it works.Good Luck."

Yeah I noticed that issue when I first got my KK. I was driving on the interstate and went from 45-60 and all of a sudden the RPMs just dropped on me. Took it in to the dealership and they said it was normal for the KK, or so they've seen. I've been toying with the idea of getting a flashed PCM, but haven't quite mustered up the nerve for it.

Well thanks to all for the info and the possible fix..

I just used 65 as a number that I cruse at.
I am sure it does this at most any cruse speeds. 35 or 45 or 65 or even 105.

If this was the first time TBW was used, I could see this type of issue.
TBW < Throttle by wire> But this has been used for year.
it has been perfected. it is used in racing where it has to be perfect.
It is used in Space shuttles and air planes.
So now my KK needs to be perfect....

I will try these things out for sure.
I personaly do not want my KK to down shift when I am on flat ground and want to increase my speed for 5 mile per hour.
and my starting RPM is 2500.

If I am going up hill that is a differant story and load.
So things will be differant.

Some folks over at the Jeep Patriot forum have talked about this (the Patriot uses TBW also) and have commented that it works. I suppose the Liberty would be no different.

One of our Members have done this,and far as I know,its still working.I did my Charger 2 years ago,and had no problem since I did it.I did do My KK when new,but that could be why i never had problem with my KK with the throttle.This is a common problem with Mopars.I would give it a try,its easy,and I found it works.

Yes this worked out great for the 2008....

I am much happier with how the car drives now at low speeds...

Well a update report....
I had a freind try it on her Libery as well.
This fix is working great. All owner should try it

we can recalibrate the throttle buy turning key to on position,press the gas pedal down then let up pedal slowly.Turn off key,then start and the throttle should take out the hesitation.
