From the product above:
Quote:
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you supply aerosols that kill the thief by gassing them?

A: No. It would be unsafe for the alarm fitters and would open up a whole range of legal issues.

Q: Can the unit be triggered by the driver if they are at a set of traffic lights and a thief forces them out of the car and drives off?

A: No. It would not be safe for any nearby pedestrians if the car was driven at speed whilst full of smoke. The unit has a safety feature which prevents it from being activated whilst the vehicle is moving.

Heh!
Of course no where does it say what the smoke does to your upholstery!

I'd prefer having the Cobras in the KJ.

How long would the cannisterof smoke last? At night, thieves could wait until the smoke cleared since there is no "sound" to ward them off in the dead of night.

If it was sleeping gas or tear gas, now that would be great.

How about a lethal needle puncture through the drivers seat. Have a syring full of fast acting deadly poison spring up from the bottom of the seat and shoot them up in the butt. Or have the needle shoot out from the dash into their chest.

Okay, time to be Q and make those cool gadgets. Perhaps the auto seat ejector he had in his Aston Martin.

My personal favorite is the large capacitor hook up to below a seat cushion ,hook into a positive lead. then you put a microswitch inline to shut it off for the users of the vehicle. work kind of like a stun gun when the wouldbe thief sit on the seat cushion.

Yes it does...I have seen it done...it does take awhile though.
I locked myself out of my Jeep a few weeks back and had to call a locksmith. He used a slim jim and it took him only about 30 seconds...including putting in the window seal pry wedge...

I like the smoke screen idea. The timing of the smoke pulse is adjustable....interesting.

Regarding Electric shock. You could always wire shock contacts on to the door handle and have it wired so that when you push the unlock button on the key fob the unlocking mechanism turns off the shock circuits. That would be pretty easy to do. That might also help to foil car jackers as when the auto locks came back on the door handle would once again be energized.

Thos components are cheaper to replace than an entire KJ that has a lot of your personal history and memories in it.

The cost for the damage is up to $1,800

I called thursday and they were bumping out the door and going to repaint it. Talk about ripping off my insurance company. The paint on my door was not cracked and there is no way it needed to be repainted. I got a check from my insurance company for $1,000 for the repairs. Just can't believe how much the dealership jacks it up.

I use my reputation as an angry redneck gunowner to prevent thieves. Stillwater isn't huge or small (17,000 people i believe) and we don't have a high theft rate. You get more vandalism if anything. I had a guy that slashed my tires because he was bored once. I threatened his looser friend with physical violence and he told me the whole story. I then stole the driveshafts out of his XJ-yes front and rear. You make my Jeep immobile-I make your's immobile. The looser had a 3 inch body lift and stock tires...

Your skills come in handy, I see  Out of curiosity, was it difficult to do? Sounds like it had to be done in secrecy, and in short amount of time. Is it really that quick to do?

You should get your insurance and dealership to talk to each other, mine did and they got the insurance to pay for everything when I had 10,000+ dollars of damage to my jeep from hail.

I am a bad man with some good skills  I checked the size on a buddy's XJ to get the proper size sockets and tools. Took about 5 minutes per shaft give or take with no light except my cell phone screen. It was easy but I have done the procedure on similar vehicles before.

Why do you think they call me the Manic Mechanic? My shop teachers at tech school came up with that nick name for me because my favorite tools are the oxy-acetylene torch and a sawzall...strip a bolt... TORCH IT!!! They said I would be the mechanic your service writer doesn't want you to see...
