I'd be interested to know more about this guy's setup.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/801370

Anyone know who this is? I have seen the jeep before with the RK lift, but didn't know it was solid up front now.

That's gotta be quite old. The sagas of the RK 7-UP lift have been closed for a few years at least now, if not longer.

Yeah, which is why it surprises me it hasn't been posted on here before, at least not to my knowledge. I figured there'd be more info on here about it because it looks to have been around a while. Kinda weird.

i talked to the guy on cardomain and i was going to purchase the RK 7 up from him, but he ssaid not to if i liked going through tires like crazy, and he welded the lca mount to the old one, so it was not salvagable

I'm fairly certain Jeresbou was on here long, long, long ago...he had issues with constructive criticism and he angrily bailed.

Nope he went full hydro steering. It's much safer nowdays but can be very dangerous on a DD rig since you loose 100% steering if the engine cuts out.

Hey Troy, what about Hydro Assist steering? Does it cut out entirely too?

Hydro assist will cease to operate if your engine is not running since it is run off your power steering system.Your hard linkage steering will still work though.Full hydro steering has no hard linkage connecting the steering wheel to the front wheels which makes it not real safe for a DD rig.

IIRC, Full hydro steering is illegal in most states as well because of what Troy said.

I don't believe it is in NV. I know a few guys running it on their jeeps they drive around town. They could be breaking the law I guess, but there is no state inspection beyond a smog check.

Until you get in a wreck and they say it is your fault based on illegal equipment.
