I know CRDs have have heavy front springs (500lbs/in?), but are the struts valved differently?

Context - my brother ordered front and rear BDS 2" springs, rear shocks, and strut spacers for his gasser KJ ..... and I still have my OEM CRD front strut assemblies...so I thought we could assemble his new strut components with my struts so we dont have to pull his off his KJ first, and mine have 50K less miles on them.

Anyone see any errors in my thinking? Thanks!

I don't believe there is a different part# for the CRD, so apart from condition, there should be no difference.

OEM CRD front coils are only 410lbs coils, the OME 790 coils are the 500lbs coils. At 50,000miles your OEM struts are shot, just buy new struts like Rancho 17505's that will last longer and have a lifetime warranty.

Whats the benefit of changing out the front springs with new struts to the OME ones?

That is where I got the 500 lbs/in, I had the OME springs.

The OEM struts I have only saw 25K miles (that being 50K less than his), and he is on a budget so they will do for now. Just needed to know if they will ride like the gasser OEM struts, which it sounds like they should.

If he was to buy an aftermarket strut for the front, what length should it be for a 2'' longer spring?

Sorry I put this in the CRD section, felt right for the first question....
