Our OEM LSD did not seem to be working very well lately (60K miles) and then I noticed a continuous groaning from the rear when driving in a tight left hand circle. Dealer dx this as failed clutch packs. We had had the fluid changed and additive was supposedly installed with it 30K ago by our former dealer.

Current dealer tech says that it would have failed within 2K miles if the additive had not been installed and that longevity of these rigs is highly variable.

What's your experience? Looks like ours "worked" for about 50K.

50K is a good life for a clutch based LSD,many don't last that long.
