My first idea of a portable whinch kit was maybe a good idea, but it did not hold up for the treatment. It started to bend the constructions.

Why I wanted it portable is because the swedish "MOT" do not alow that kind of equipment. Therefor I need to remove it before I take the Jeep there.
But if I registrate my Jeep as a light truck instead of a family car, there will be no problem whith a whinch in the front. All I have to doo is to remove the rear seat and seatbelt. That will also reduse the road tax to about 50%...
So... This is what´s going on right now:

Not beautiful, but sturdy as a rock... It does not move or twist at all. :P And also it is not as heavy as before, about 25% lighter.
Some cosmetic remains to doo.

(Please, if I spell something wrong, let me know. I might learn something...)

Off topic: A family car whith gasolin enginge costs about 2500 SEK/year in road tax, whith a diesel engine in the same vehicle the tax is about 10 000 SEK/year. If that diesel car is registrated to a light truck (Whithout the rear seat) the road tax is about 3000 SEK/year.
1 dollar is allmost 7 SEK.

Looks good. Just a few cosmetic touches and it's good to go.

Nice lookin winch mount! You might want to cover the opening at the end of the tubing so it dosen't start to rust.

Spell check, its 'registered' not 'registrated'.
:D

Just helpin out.

Nicer solution to a sticky problem.
You can buy (in Australia) internal knock-in caps in polypropylene. If you can't get them easily, (I am guessing, but it looks like this is about 40x40 RHS) I have some in the shed I wud be pleased to mail to you with my best wishes.
P.M. me if you are interested.
Regards
Auberon
