How do you people in the south live with this heat everyday.

I'm in Alexandria, LA for work this month and these 100 some heat indexes are enough to make a person enjoy snow in the winter

I don't know about the south and heat indexes, but I live in central California and we have temperatures around 105 quite often, and that's not a heat index, that's what the thermometer reads. You just deal with it and wait for the sun to go down

heat index is kinda like a wind chill, its what the temp feels like to the body.

out there in the desert you don't ahve the humidity, that actual air temp here is only in the mid 90s, but the humidity makes it feel much warmer than it really is

I spent all day Saturday biking & walking in Chicago, it was hot and muggy! However, if I could pick up ALL my friends and family and move south... I would, I'd rather have more crazy heat then deal with the sh!ty Chicago winters we have.

Looks like I'll be living in the Chicago area rest of my life, because I'd never leave my family & friends for better weather.

School starts tomorrow. It will be quiet around here with the kids gone.
The garden is almost done. After the state fair it all comes out.
My shoulder hurts. Not sure why. Maybe because I spend too much time on the computer. :lol:

Now that is about as random as you can get.

I'm usually on till 12ish MST most of the week and even later on weekends

I dunno digger... I've seen some posts that were posted at odd hours. Granted the sole purpose of the internet is to amuse me when I'm at work or can't sleep late at night/early in the morning.

By the way the rant of my day is DEERS facilities. For any of you military folk you know what I mean. They keep bankers hours, and when you do manage to get there during their hours of operations they seem to be having problems and their equipment is down. But on the plus side driving in the rain cleaned the Jeep. So it wasn't a total waste.

Awe I've been crazy busy. Work has been nuts so I can't sit at the assembly all night and play on the computer instead of putting idots in jail. Add in that i'm buying a house monday and all my free time is spent...

Free time is a cruel myth... with 4 cars (2 of which are older than I am), a girlfriend and now a house...I don't think I'll have much time to just do nothing. Maybe I should re-think that Lab puppy I want.

Get the Lab puppy, I had one that lived till he was 16 and was one of the best dogs I have ever had.... now the girl friend :roll:

Well its a free pure breed Lab puppy from my parents dog.... the only down side is if I get a dog my girlfriend gets a cat. I hate cats :evil:

so much that when I see one crossing the road at work I punch it to try to take them out.... they're too fast though I'm 0 in 100s
