I'm sorry..... as re payment to you, I will now post the WHOLE story... hope you are ready as it is going to take a bit
Ok, I guess we will start with the very first meeting of the minds.... Around the end of August, I visited RL for a test fitting/measurement of rock rails. While I was there, he brought out a 2.5 KJ lift. Me being the way I am said lets put it on.... We discovered that most of the pieces would work and that info was relayed back to JBA. Late November shows up and I get a call from JBA saying that the 4.0 KK lift was almost done. I paid the good man and awaited shipment. 2 weeks go by and finally RL calls me and says he has my lift. So I'm like cool, let do this on a Saturday morning... So we set the date of the 20th, which was a Saturday....
So the days roll by and the weather was really nice here in Denver and it was looking like it was going to be warm. Thursdays rolls around and the forecast calls for a chance of snow. No worries I thought as the prediction was for a dusting. Well, with Colorado being Colorado, I decided to wake up early Saturday morning just in case the weather was bad.... Yeah it was bad. The normal drive that takes 45 minutes took me almost an hour extra because of road conditions/ idiots on the road. I 25 was snow packed and iced pretty good. I get to the springs and as soon as I get to RL house, there is like 6 inches in his drive way.... At this point, I'm already going great, but what ever. The install should be easy... NOT
I pull in to his garage, kick on the propane heater since it is only 15 degrees and get to work. I start at the rear knowing the front was going to suck, but little did I know that the rear would be the killer. I get her jacked up and torn down and start to work on the brake lines. I get the line cut and as I go to reach from my flare nut, I go OH crap. I had left them on the table at home. At this point, I have no way of getting home with out help from RL. So I go to RL and ask him for a ride. So we get in his XJ that has bald tires, and I mean bald like racing slicks and procedure to auto zone
Any way, we make it back to his house (just barely) By now it is Noon, and I haven't gotten crap done. Long story short I get the rear done by 4 while working on the front. The whole time thought, I was working in puddles of water because of melting snow and ice.
By the time I had the coil overs done, TJKJ and USAFCOP had come over and they were a huge help in finishing up the front and UCA's. By the time I was done, It was 8 pm. I say my thanks and get ready to leave. As soon as I get to I 25 ,I get a call from home that I 25 was shut down. I'm like doo doo......... SO I get off and make my way over to the back road called SH 83.... 4 hours and 75 miles later, I made it home.... Oh and that was with out having it aligned...
I think that is the most I have typed in a while
