Will have to get used to "go pedal" response. When I let off the pedal, I still feel a small surge forward...probably the energy left from the seemiongly quicker spool up or something. Got used to it very quickly.
I noticed the same thing. FYI, here is GDE's answer:
About the vehicle acceleration on a tip-out maneuver (removing your foot
from the pedal), that kind of behavior is expected. What you described
before (where when you remove your foot from the pedal you feel the vehicle
"slow down") is what most people refer to as the vehicle not coasting very
well. Additionally, in that kind of maneuver you would feel the driveline
clunk as the torque on the driveline went from positive to negative. What we
did was change how the accelerator pedal position gets filtered in the ECU
software so that not only is the clunk reduced (hopefully so on most cars)
but the vehicle "coasts" better. Additionally, the logic which filters the
actual injected fuel quantity was adjusted to get rid of the clunk because
not only is it annoying but is bad for the driveline components. The vehicle
shouldn't ever continue to accelerate -- however, the rate of deceleration
has changed which is what I think you're feeling.
Getting the RPMs down as you mentioned isn't always the key -- at 760rpm
(idle speed), the engine has to inject a certain amount of fuel to keep it
running. If the engine stays at an extremely light load at a higher RPM, in
most cases it'll actually be consuming less fuel and the fuel economy will
actually improve with time.
