I went with friends to see Paranormal Activity.

If you like movies that claim to expose real life spooky s***, see this movie. If you're not familiar with this film, it asks the real-life question; "What happens When You're Asleep".

Believe me when I say lights on or lights off - you may never sleep again.

Ironically, I heard when Director Steven Spieiberg had viewed the seven endings that were filmed before the movie was released, he suggested to this first time screenwriter / Director to use the ending that made the final cut into the film. The ending didn't ruin the movie for me.

Btw, it was announced yesterday that there will be a sequel. This guy shot this film two years ago for something like $11,000. 00 budget and now that it has grossed something like $10 Million, Paramount Pictures is backing a sequel because of the ending.

I seen the old, non theatre version of the film awhile back. I don't know what ending the theatre version had, but the one I seen was good. I didn't find the movie all that scary, definetly not the scariest movie of all time. Anybody else think that the male actor was a total douche? Kinda ruined the movie for me. All and all though not a bad flick for less than 20 grand. I have seen movies that cost millions of dollars that were less entertaining than this (Spiderman 3).

Not really.

It was creepy. But I thought the filmmaker did a excellent job in scaring you into wondering if this really happens. Especially for anyone who has ever felt a presence or that they were not alone, while thinking they were. As for scenes in the movie, the lead actress who portrayed "Katie" was really good, especially her thousand yard stare. I hope she is cast in the sequel.

Oh and as for not being able to sleep - That was subtle humor to say I thought the movie was good.

The dude was a douche bag to his wife! But it was funny as hell!!

The first few nights after I saw it I slept with my TV on

I know its not real but thats just how creeped out I was. The ending did kinda ruin it just a little bit. But I loved the movie. They way they made it was just brilliant! The way they had the camera set up so you just see the room and the hall way and the natural feeling lighting. The silence in the sleeping scenes makes you scan the whole screen looking for whats going to happen and then it happens! You get so into the movie you're just constantly stareing at the screen waiting to find out what happens next. I love how it builds up and each night it gets worse until BAM! it happens.

And on their website it says they shot the movie in seven days. The neighbors didn't even know the movie was being shot. This movie wasen't even planned to be on the big screens. It just kinda happened.
