Me too. There's been lots of times when I start to spell something then erase it and spell something easier. But I can spell "That's a bad booty bumper" correctly!

So we can't be talking about a member of the genus Equus, specifically, Equus asinus) without having the filter mangling the name beyond recognition?

What if I call it a bad-arse bumper? :D

OK, guys, good news. I saw my manufacturer yesterday, he's starting on the first prototype next week and should be done in about 3 weeks. Once I get the first prototype, I can see what corrections need made, make another prototype, and hopefully that will be the end of the prototypes, and then start production. I plan to have one KJ (USAFCOP) with both front and rear bumper prototypes at the KJ event in Moab in April for those of you planning on going to that. Wally (allyrand) with the big bad camo KJ will also have the other prototype rear bumper at the Moab event. That will give you guys a chance to check it out in person.

Since my manufacturer got my design plans on the rear bumper, I got my costs today, which means I have prices for you guys. I was thinking about waiting a little longer, but I know you guys are dying to know how much money to save. These prices are pretty much set, although they may go up closer to production time, but by no more than $25. These prices are just for the rear bumper, WITHOUT any of the carriers. I should have the pricing for the carriers in a few weeks, but somewhere in the $250-300 range for the tire carrier, and less for the jerry can carrier. Front bumpers are going to be close to the same price, maybe a little less, but the amount of work adn steel if very close to the rear bumper. I should have prices on the front end of next week.

Ok, regular retail price for the bare steel rear bumper alone is $675. Hold on, don't panic yet. Intro price is going to be $607.50. If you prepay before I change my mind about these prices (read that "up to $25" in previous paragraph), then you get another 10% off that price, so $546.75. If you ask me, any of those are a heck of a price for the only KJ rear bumper going to be on the market. Also, don't forget about the giveaway contest going on as well. Production isn't going to be for a few more months, so you guys have plenty of time to start saving to get in on the prepay plan, so don't stress there. Don't procrastinate though. You know how things happen at the last minute when you are trying to save up a bunch of money. Also, your prepayments help me get these things into production faster, so keep that in mind, because it really helps drop my stress level. Operators are standing by.:D:D:D

So, expect the first full model rear bumper with carriers near the end of February for your viewing enjoyment.

I wasn't even considering these bumpers until now...I assumed they'd be over $800. As low as you're pricing these, I'm going to start saving my nickles.

Can't wait to see them at Moab!

Just as a guestimate since I am sure people may be wondering, how do you ship the bumpers and any guess as to how much $$ to ship to various areas? I know you have shipped bumpers before and might have an idea.

I'm not real concerned about it, but imagine others are wondering.

I'm sure most realize, but I'll say it again, any time you can get this type of bumper to your door for around $600 (even w/out carriers) it is a great deal! I know I am delaying another purchase just to make sure I get in on this first batch and forcing myself to avoid extra spending to make sure I can afford the carriers for it too. Dang nice that the timing is around the time that tax refund money is coming to us too. I look forward to smacking that bumper against a rock for sure!

OK, just for estimate purposes, I picked a zip in Maryland, since that would be in the furthest shipping zone for UPS. I know the basic dimensions of the box for the bumper, but the weight I don't know yet, so I figured shipping weight for 100lbs and the max weight of 150lbs, and shipping was $126.82 for 100lbs and $161.95 for 150lbs. So $161.95 is the most it will possibly be, but I can't see this bumper being that near that heavy. Thats just the rear bumper, no carriers.

UPS will ship it anywhere, I was just using Maryland as an example since it is on the East Coast and would give a good estimate at the most shipping could possibly be.

Yep, talked to the manufacturer today, and things are moving pretty good. I should have the first prototype mounted on Ted's junk in about three weeks. Until then, I just picked up a bunch of steel for Skink Sliders, and will be ordering a tube bender probably this week. I should also have some more info on the front bumpers by the end of this week as well.

I'm not from here, only live here. I'm from the East coast where they have NO patience. (at least in NJ they don't)

Cool to hear an update on the Bumpers! Looking forward to the finished product.
