I was wondering if the LCD Display Unit would work without the whole system???

The DM-150 OBD II Dash Mount looks pretty cool!

Does the flaw with the ECM and TCM communication, as experienced with ScanGauge, make it likely that these types of monitoring systems that go through the OBD port will usually interfere with the ECM/TCM performance?
