My first post! I have been lurking while I was going through the buying decision on my '05/'06 Liberty CRD. The engine and drivetrain was out of an '05 that was totaled in a rear end accident. The rest was an '06 3.7 gasser with a blown engine. Only 38k on the engine and drivetrain, and she seems to run like a champ. Right now it's bone stock except for the Bridgestone Dueler Revo's. I look forward to learning and modding!

Howdy - Welcome to LOST

Who did the swap?
(of course assuming you had them side by side that would be the best kind of swap)

welcome fellow CRDer

Intresting how you got a CRD out of a wrecked 05 CRD and a blown up 06 gasser. Is it registered as an 06?

Yup, it is registered as an '06. It was put together by a Romanian guy who owns a scrap yard in Westland. The guy buys them/fixes/puts them together here in the states, and typically ships them back home and sells them for quite a profit. It just so happens I drove by and saw it on his lot, and inquired about it, tuns out he needed some quick cash so he sold it to me.

I would think that would have brought in a fair price in Romania.

I knew a guy that bought a used car from a Romainian guy named Draculia.... I thought that was kind of funny

Welcome!
Always like to hear from CRD owners. Glad to see you saved one. You will find lots of good info here. I used this site as a resource before we bought our CRD. Have owned several jeeps. Looking forward to hearing more about your unique acquisition. 8)
