Yep, those are the first brand of shocks I had..... get some big round washers at the hardware store and install them on the top mount.......

How thick of a washer? I was looking at Mikes top mount of his shocks (http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=45977), which side of the shock would you put the washer on? So what is the shock off balance and this causes noise?

I have two, one on the inside and one on the outside.... For some reason, the new upper bushings on the shocks are smaller in width than the factory ones. I'll get a picture in a minute

nice, so was this causing problems for you or did you just notice the bushing was smaller and fixed it before anything happened? Im hopeing its something as simple as this.

I doubt you are going to see any signs.... You could try and get an inspection mirror in there...........

I have the same shocks and what I did was to torque the bolts down to bend in the bracket. No noise here. The washer thing, on hind site, would have been better. Now, if I change the shocks, I will have to bend the bracket back out.

How uses a torque wrench

Just kidding. But that is the exact reason I added the washers. Now, they are not the easiest to install at first, but you'll get use to installing them after disassembling them a few times

Line up the rear washer first and then apply back pressure to the shock while you slide in the second washer and then the bolt

Here the top of mine. I guess I'll try Scar0's idea and tighten then down to the point of bending the bracket.

I did use a torque wrench. I even stopped before I reached full torque, because the bracket was bending and the rubber insert was mashing in.

This seemed to be the problem, Squeezed 2 Washers on each side (.25 cents each) and torqued to 80lb ft of torque and took it up an easy trail and no thudding noise.

I know it's an old topic but what size were the washers? I need to add them to my shocks because I have that loud noise also in my KK. I'm planning on trying to fix it this weekend.

Thanks in advance!

You need a washer that will fit a M12 bolt
