Several months ago, I built an oil separator similar to the TDI Guy design and the Tygon hoses I used collapsed. I put a spring in the one between the oil separator and the turbo and ordered Gates 12GMV Megavac 3/4" hose from Motion Industries. After taking twice as long as I expected to get me the hose (took them four days to cut and two days to ship the hose), I finally got the time to install the new hose. The Gates Megavac hose is way beyond what we need and should be more than adequate. If you have a local Hydraulic Shop, buy from them, less hassle.

Below are my photos.

how does that oil seprator work? is there a drain hose?

I installed the provent not long ago. I just asked for hoses in the sizes that were in the write up posted here when I went to the auto parts store. they just sold me heater hose.

Mine has a drain cap that I need to connect to a drain valve so I don't need to remove it to drain.

You want return line hydraulic hose that won't get soft or collapse.

I've been looking to replace my ProVent hoses for a while now and it looks like there's a Motion Industries about 4 miles from my house. Mind me asking how much the hose ran you?

Dan

So I can leave the hose from the CCV to the provent the heater hose I used and change out the other one that returns back to the turbo to better hose?

Original hose is emissions hose and does not tend to swell.
Heater hose will swell and cause problems.

They charged $9.51 a foot plus shipping and tax. I bought 6 feet and used 4 1/2 feet.

Measure your existing hoses before you order, I was several states away in a hotel and had to guess on the length.

looks like I will be re doing mine then. its ok now for now so it seems.

I wonder if I can get a simular hose at Grangier? and yes 6 foot was too much for me to I had a foot of more left over of the heater hose I used.
