Meet & Greet

Hey y'all! Since we are scattered across the state, I think Austin, or nearby, would be a good place to get together. No to mention what better place than the captiol?! It looks like most of us would about about a 3 hour drive to get there.

I personally love to camp and Lake Travis is right there. Specifically, Pace Bend Park. It has both primitive (tent) and pad (camper) sites. There is plenty do to both there and in Austin.

I'm thinking maybe the weekend of August 19-21, however it would be nice to set a date when most could make it.

Let me know what you think. Dates, location, everything is open to change.

Since there hasn't been much response to this, I'm not sure if there is enough interest. If anyone really wants to go, regardless of how many, I'm there. Otherwise, we can just meet "down by the Seashore". So, let me know what y'all want to do.

It looks like there's enough interest to make this happen. So, let's set the final dates as August 19-21 at Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis. I'll be there Friday night at the latest. Because the tent sites are first come-first serve, it'd be nice if whoever gets there first could save the others sites close by. you can get more info here: http://www.co.travis.tx.us/tnr/parks/pace_bend.asp

I'll be there the whole weekend, but feel free to come just for a day.

Per request, the date is changing to the following weekend, Aug. 26-28. If anyone has already requested time off for the original date, please speak up.

I'm going to try and take off Friday, so I can get there early. If not, I won't be able to get there until late Friday. I've not been there, so I don't kow where to meet. they have about 400 "primitive" campsites, so i doubt a reservation is needed, but it wouldn't hurt. I was thinking we could exchange cell numbers (not on here, by email) so that when we get there we'll know where to go. We could set a time to meet if y'all know when you'd be able to get there.

I'm in for Lake travis August 26-Aug 28 for those of use leaving from the Dallas/FW area maybe we can leave in a convoy formation
