Anyone have any experience with any particular trailer hitch cargo rack such as the ones you can see here? Now that my best friends and niece and nephew will be joining me for LOST Jeep Safari 2010 in Moab this April, I've got to look for some extra storage space to get 5 of us from Kansas City to Moab.

I'd appreciate any trailer hitch cargo rack experience anyone has. And yes, I will also have to do something about a roof rack system too.

I know it's not from the link, but this one is lighter and cheaper. Yes, you do loose a foot over most of those, but this one has 2 advantages-
1. cheaper
2. WAY lighter........

We have a old one that harbor freight use to sell.... weights about 75 lbs. The thing is a huge welded basket. We don't use it often for a few reasons, it's uber heavy, you can fell the thing in the rear while driving, and it's bulky to store, and did I say uber heavy

The HF one is nice because it only weights 28 lbs and the sides can be taken off.....

Never worth it, IMO. Go for roof storage before adding another foot or more to the length of your vehicle. Just like any hitch rack, they like to wobble around turns.
