Anyone got a CB Radio in their KJ? If so where did you mount the antenna and where did you put the actual radio.

Thanks,

-Chris

I have one, Uniden something... cant remember the model right now... put the antenna bracket coming out of the tail light, and put the actual radio on the passenger side right infront of the center console.... :JEEPIN:

I was actually looking at the Uniden since its only about 40-50 bucks. As much as a chrome plated CB radio might be neat, its not worth $$140.

I was going to get a magnetic antenna but I work in a School district (I travel between schools to fix computers), My office is at the high school so I could see someone trying to walk off with it or taking it off.

I'm wondering if something like this...http://www.quadratec.com/products/13008_1000.htm might work for the roof racks, or this for the spare tire http://www.quadratec.com/products/13008_07.htm , My mom mounted her antenna on her spare tire on her wrangler, figured a similar setup could be done for a liberty.

I use a $30 Cobra CB and it has been awesome. I got it at Walmart and mounted it to the bottom of my glove box. My CB antenna is where the stock radio antenna was. I use a CB/AM-FM splitter and use the CB antenna for both functions.

Maybe a dumb question, but if your CB antenna is is doing the job of both AM\FM and CB radio, im assuming your CB antenna is longer then the stock antenna for the radio, do you get better signal for the AM\FM radio?

The new antenna is longer but I get no better reception on my AM-FM channels. Works just like the stock one did, at least I can't tell any difference. .

3ft Wilson Silver antenna is slightly longer than stock AM/FM antenna....I think.

Reception is no different.

You're welcome. I've used mine on a couple of runs so far and it works great. Good luck with your install. This site has all kinds of folks with all kinds of help and has been an invaluable resource for me. Again, good luck.
