Hey Guys,

So good news and bad news, I got accepted to Plymouth State university (in NH) as a full time student, for the past few years I've been working full time and going to college at night. That's how I've been able to afford to keep my jeep.

Now that I'm going to be a full time student I won't have as much time and money for my jeep. So I have a few maintenance questions about the jeep.

1. I'm at 52,000 miles, I've done routine maintenance like fluids and tire rotations, The manual suggests doing all sorts of things at the 30k mark and the 60k mark (I never did anything special at 30k)...Should I go to a garage and have them do everything listed in the manual?
2. Will I have any issues with my jeep sitting for 1-2 weeks at a time in a parking lot? Or should I try to turn it on and take her for a brief ride around the campus so she doesn't get lonley?
3. Anything else I should consider? My driving will be considerably less, maybe not even drive at all for 1-2 weeks at a time.

More questions may come soon.

Thanks for the help!

-Chris

you should not have any issues. mine would set for a couple weeks at time while i drove my company vehicle. The only thing I would say is keep the tank full when parked to avoid the tank sweating.
on the factory recommended stuff. that is entirely up to the individual. if you want an excellent trade in rating then you will want to do it. but since you skipped the 30 grand services you will not get it anyway. you have to have all of the stamps to get top dollar.

I'm hoping to not trade it in, I assume once I start adding mods to it, Lift kits tires etc, then the dealership trade in rate will drop drastically anyways.

Do they sell reliable gas tank locks? Or can you not siphon gas out of the newer vehicles?

If you don't burn through a tank when you drive it, pour some fuel preservative(like Sta-bil) in the tank just for insurance.
A solar charger would compensate for your radio and other autonomic accessories that draw power with the ignition off.
